Rules are currently in place for travellers to England (rules may vary slightly for Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland). The rules change periodically as the Government reviews the risks, but from the 4th October 2021 the rules can be summarised as:
If travelling from a country on the GREEN LIST (which currently includes nearly all countries from which REFSQ delegates have historically come from) you need to:
Be fully vaccinated under an approved vaccination programme
Pre-book a COVID-19 test to be taken on or before 2 days after your arrival in the UK
Full, up-to-date official guidance on travel to the UK is published here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-to-england-from-another-country-during-coronavirus-covid-19.
The official guidance includes the current lists of the countries on the RED, AMBER and GREEN lists, the rules that apply to travellers from these countries and a list of COVID-19 test providers.
Note that in the UK the cost of COVID-19 tests varies significantly according to the provider, the location at which the test takes place, and the level of service provided.
The rules on travel are likely to change during the period leading up to REFSQ 2022 so be sure to check the official guidance, and that of your own country for your return from the UK, before you book your travel.
